His Majesty King Abdullah II received today a call from France President Emmanuel Macron, which covered the dangerous situation in the region – per the Royal Hashemite Court (RHC).

His Majesty urged further international efforts to reach comprehensive calm and prevent a regional expansion of the conflict.

His Majesty emphasized the importance of halting regional escalation and unilateral “Israeli” actions, warning of their potential consequences, which could exacerbate violence and tensions in the region, the statement added.

He stressed the need for an immediate and permanent cease-fire in Gaza and an end to the humanitarian suffering of the people in the Strip. He highlighted Jordan's ongoing efforts to provide relief aid through all available means.

He reiterated the importance of working towards a political solution that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution.

The call also addressed ways to enhance cooperation between the two friendly nations and maintain coordination to serve their mutual interests.
